Will this cost too much?
AWe work with people on all different levels. We have clients who see us multiple times every week. Some start with us once or twice a week and then scale back repeating the workouts we give them on their own. Still others come to us to get started with their fitness plan. We teach them a workout in 2-3 sessions so that they are proficient to do it safely on their own. Often they’ll come back every 2-3 months so that we can change up the workout and keep them progressing. We can help people on a variety of budgets with our exercise sessions ranging from $20-70.

Will the trainer push me too hard?
AWe only push as hard as you want to be pushed. If you need a drill sergeant approach, we can do that. However, we prefer to help you compete against your own past performance getting a little stronger and fit with each session. We know that injuries hinder progress and are no fun. We’ll do everything in our power to keep you injury free.

I have tried so many things. Will I fail at this?
AWe won’t let you. We customize our approach to each client to ensure they succeed.

What if I don’t have time to do a training program or everything that the personal trainer will want me to do?

What if I don’t feel comfortable in a gym with all those fit people?
AOur goal is to teach you the best exercise form so that you feel confident in the gym. We trained an 80-yr old grandma who took pleasure in correcting the form of the 20-year old guys in the weight room!

I’ve tried diets and workout routines and don’t stick with them, what will be different this time?
ASometimes you just need a coach to point you toward your success. We fall into our own repeat patterns of self-sabotage and/or life gets in the way of our fitness. A Better Living personal trainer/nutritionist will keep pulling you back on track. Most of our clients are so thrilled with their results they keep up their workouts for years!

I have a hard time keeping weight off. How can I lose it for good?

AWe start off with a 30-60 minutes of talking. We want to know what has worked and not worked for you in the past. We need to know your goals so that we can tailor a program to get you to them. We are building a foundation for success.

AWith small-group, couple and individual training we offer a variety of programs to fit your budget. We have clients who work with us anywhere from once a month to 4 times a week. Our average client has been with us over 2 years!

Can you tell me about your company?
AI started Better Living in October 1999 while working in healthcare consulting. I saw companies spending billions of dollars on preventable health issues: heart disease, stroke, diabetes, renal failure and even some forms of cancer. While obtaining master’s degrees from the University of Michigan in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition I became an ACE-certified personal trainer and opened Better Living. I vowed to help our clients get fit and healthy so they wouldn’t suffer from these illnesses. Furthermore, I pledged that I would help them maximize their energy and be able to do everything they want in life. Rehabilitate a knee injury so that you can get on the ski slopes again? We do that! Make your lower back pain free? Absolutely! Want to be able to play with your kids/grandkids? We’ll train you to stay two steps in front of them!
